Overview
Tapify is a connected hardware and software platform for self-service draft beer and real-time beverage operations. It combines precise flow measurement, access control, customer-facing interfaces, and cloud management into one operational ecosystem for bars, venues, and events.
My Role
As Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, I lead the technology strategy, engineering execution, and end-to-end architecture of the product.
- Architect the ecosystem across cloud APIs, station software, tap interfaces, management dashboards, and mobile applications
- Connect NFC/RFID authentication, precision flow metering, industrial hardware, and MQTT communication
- Own technical direction, security, data integrity, deployment, observability, and remote device management
- Turn real operational requirements from hospitality teams into reliable product workflows
The Problem
Traditional draft operations give venues limited visibility into each pour. Waste, unauthorized serving, inconsistent portions, and queues all reduce margins while making daily operations harder to audit.
Tapify needed to make the physical serving process measurable and controllable without making it slower or more complicated for guests and staff.
The Product
The platform brings the full service flow together:
- Tap and authenticate: customers access a tap using NFC, RFID, or a QR code from the mobile app
- Measure precisely: industrial flow meters track the poured volume in real time
- Enforce limits: the station stops the pour automatically when the prepaid limit is reached
- Synchronize instantly: operational data is sent to the cloud and reflected in the management dashboard
- Operate remotely: teams can monitor consumption, manage kegs and pricing, and support deployed stations
Ecosystem
Tapify is built as a connected product rather than a standalone dispenser. The ecosystem includes the industrial self-pour module, local station software, a cloud platform, an operator dashboard, a mobile wallet and access app, and a digital menu experience.
This creates one reliable data path from the physical flow meter to the venue’s operational view, while preserving a fast and intuitive experience at the tap.
Current Impact
As of August 2026, Tapify has measured more than 1,000,000 pours, prevents unauthorized pours, and helps operators improve keg yield through precise, auditable serving.
